Aluminium bathroom doors and kitchen doors in Makkah

Aluminium bathroom doors are interior doors with a lighter profile than an entrance door, made to the size of the opening rather than bought ready-made, whether for a bathroom, a washroom or a kitchen. Send the size and a photo of the opening for an estimate.

What makes an aluminium bathroom door different?

An aluminium door for the bathroom is an interior door that neither rusts nor swells with steam, unlike wood, and it is not a scaled-down entrance door. Its profile is lighter and its size smaller, without the reinforcement an entrance needs, but it needs two things an entrance does not: constant moisture resistance and a way out for steam.

Using an entrance profile in a bathroom raises the cost with no real benefit. An aluminum bathroom door or aluminium washroom door follows the same rules, and kitchens follow them with one difference: the finish must wipe clean of grease, not just water. Here we mean the door of the kitchen room, not cabinet doors.

Types of aluminium bathroom, washroom and kitchen doors

Six types cover most bathroom, washroom and kitchen doors, and they differ in ventilation and in the space they need, not just in looks:

Types of aluminium doors for bathrooms and kitchens
TypeWhat it isSuitsCheck before fabrication
Slatted (louvre) doorA leaf of angled aluminium slats that let air through, also called a louvered door or an aluminium door with louversBathrooms that need constant ventilation and steam reliefSlat density and angle: tighter slats give more privacy and less air
Solid panel doorA leaf closed with a full aluminium panelBathrooms and kitchens that need full privacyWhether to add a top vent, and the finish
Glass doorAn aluminium frame holding translucent glass, frosted or obscuredInternal bathrooms and kitchens that need lightGlass type and opacity, and safety rules if toughened
Sliding doorA leaf that slides instead of swingingTight bathrooms with no room for a leaf to swingRollers, sliding path and the wall beside the opening
Folding doorLeaves that fold onto each otherSpaces tighter than a slider needsLightest and least sealed; check the folding path and stacking
Frameless glass doorA toughened glass panel on metal fittingsUpscale bathrooms and shower areasCannot be cut or drilled after toughening, so the size is approved first

Prices follow the door type, not the room: a sliding bathroom door starts from SAR 540/m², a hinged one from 585, a folding one from 1,350 and a frameless glass door from 450, supplied and installed before VAT in Makkah, with slatted, cladding or glass infill in the rate. Other door types are in the price guide.

Aluminium, PVC or wood for a bathroom door?

For a door that meets steam every day, aluminium lasts longest: it does not rust or swell, it can be readjusted and its hardware can be replaced on its own. PVC costs less at first but has a shorter life and may discolour in direct sun, while wood and HDF swell and warp with steam.

We make bathroom doors in aluminium only; the comparison is here because the decision usually comes before the call.

Modern aluminium bathroom door designs and colours

Most of what photos call a model or a modern design is the result of three decisions, not a separate type:

  • Leaf type: slatted, solid or glass, the biggest change to the look
  • Finish colour: white is the most requested in bathrooms, then grey, brown, black and wood finish, chosen before fabrication because repainting on site never matches a factory finish; a brown aluminium bathroom door, burnt brown included, costs the same per m² as a white one, since every powder-coat colour has one rate, and only wood finish is priced by quote
  • Handle and lock: a small detail that changes the feel of the whole door

So the fastest way to a price is not a photo from social media but the opening size with the leaf type from the table above. Doors are made at our factory in Wadi Jalil, Makkah, and installed in Makkah, Jeddah and across Saudi Arabia. For entrance and interior styles beyond the bathroom, see modern aluminium doors.

Frequently asked questions

How is the price of an aluminium bathroom door worked out?

By the square metre: from SAR 450 for a frameless glass door, 540 for a Royal sliding aluminium door on two tracks, 585 for hinged and 1,350 for folding, supplied and installed before VAT in Makkah. Slat, cladding or glass infills are included; a solid sheet panel is priced by quote, and premium profiles add 10%.

Does aluminium suit a door in constant humidity?

Yes, which is why aluminium doors are so common in bathrooms: aluminium neither rusts nor swells with water, unlike wood and HDF. What ages over time is the hardware, not the profile, and it can be replaced on its own without changing the door.

How is an aluminium bathroom door and its frame installed?

It is measured after the tiling and finishes are complete, not before. The door frame is then fixed mechanically in the opening with a silicone perimeter seal, because water in a bathroom leaks around the frame more often than through the door itself.

Aluminium louvre (slatted) or solid door: which is better for a bathroom or toilet?

Slats give constant ventilation and let steam out, so they are the usual choice in bathrooms without an extractor fan. A solid panel gives more privacy and a cleaner look and suits a bathroom with mechanical ventilation. Decide by the ventilation you have, not by looks. The same louvre infill also goes on exterior doors, on the thicker exterior profile.

Do you also make kitchen doors and kitchen windows?

Yes, both are part of the same scope. The practical difference is that a kitchen needs stronger ventilation and a finish that wipes clean of grease, so the finish is checked together with the size.

What should I send for a bathroom door quote?

The opening size (width × height) after finishing, the number of doors, the preferred leaf type, the opening direction and a photo of the opening if the building is standing. No drawing is required, and because the door is priced per square metre, the finished size is the basis of the figure.

Is an aluminium bathroom door with frosted glass private enough?

It is: frosted glass is translucent, so it lets light through but blocks a clear view, which is why it is the usual glass for bathroom doors and entrances. It also brings daylight into an internal bathroom, sits in an aluminium frame as a glass panel or a full glass leaf, and suits a kitchen door just as well; toughened glass is checked against safety rules.
