Aluminium cladding and ACP facade cladding in Makkah
Aluminium cladding (alu cladding) is an outer skin of aluminium panels fixed to a sub-frame in front of a building’s wall, giving it an aluminium-cladded facade. Qusoor Al-Sultan fabricates and installs it at its factory in Makkah to the architectural design and drawings of each building, from SAR 180/m² supplied and installed, before VAT.
What is aluminium cladding, and how is ACP different?
Aluminium cladding is a facade skin, not a glazing system: exterior aluminium cladding panels that cover the solid parts of a building's walls. Its most common form is ACP cladding. ACP stands for aluminium composite panel, also called ACM (aluminium composite material): two aluminium skins bonded to a core. Laser-cut aluminium sheet is the second type, used as perforated aluminium panels for patterns and mashrabiya screens on the facade. We price both per square metre, supplied and installed.
International specifications may call it aluminum cladding or alu cladding; the system is the same. A cladding study reads the whole facade, not just its area, so we review elevations, sections, details and specifications, the divisions, corners and edges, the openings, and transitions to other systems. If you are comparing aluminium cladding companies in Saudi Arabia, note that we are an aluminium composite panel manufacturer, an ACP sheet supplier and an installer in one.
ACP or solid panels? ACP is a composite: two aluminium skins bonded to a core, and that build is what lets each panel be routed at the back and folded at the edges to the facade divisions. Solid panels are a different product, a single thick sheet with no core, and Qusoor Al-Sultan does not offer them as cladding.
Types of aluminium cladding and what sets the price
| Type | What it is | Used for | Rate and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACP, standard colours | 4 mm composite panel: two aluminium skins with a core | Shopfronts and offices; the most widespread | From SAR 180/m²; fire rating checked against the specification |
| ACP, special colours or wood look | Colours outside the standard range, or a wood-grain finish | Brand colours, feature bands and entrances | From SAR 250/m² |
| Laser-cut aluminium | Sheet cut with patterns, perforations and mashrabiya designs | Shade, privacy and decorative screens | From SAR 235/m²; fixing and wind loads reviewed in detail |
| Canopies and external ceilings | The same panels on an independent metal frame | Entrance canopies and soffits | Falls, rainwater drainage and frame stability |
Every option includes standard silicone and a sub-frame of 40×40 mm steel tubes; a 30×30 mm aluminium sub-frame, which cannot rust and is preferred on humid and coastal sites, adds SAR 36/m². Facade height, access and the number of cuts and edges then set the final figure. Outside Makkah, transport and installation add 3% to 10%; in Jeddah, cladding starts from SAR 185/m².
Modern cladding designs
- a wood-look band between openings or around the entrance;
- a laser-cut mashrabiya panel shading part of the facade;
- two contrasting colours marking the entrance or upper floor;
- cladding framing large glazed areas.
Villas, towers, hotels and shops: what changes?
On villas and other houses, residential aluminium cladding covers solid parts and window surrounds; on towers and hotels, access and wind-load fixing are reviewed before pricing; on shops, the colour follows the brand and the authority or mall approval is checked first (see shop front glass); on offices, the transition to the glazing is fixed on the drawings.
Interior cladding for walls and ceilings
We also install interior wall and ceiling cladding for entrances, receptions and shops in the same panels and finishes. Lighting points, air-conditioning openings and the fire rating are reviewed, and each job is priced by quote.
Installing aluminium cladding, step by step
- Survey the facade and set the cladding limits at corners and openings.
- Fix the sub-frame to the wall.
- Prepare the panels: cut them, rout the back of ACP panels and fold the edges to the divisions, setting the grain direction on wood-look panels.
- Fix the panels to the sub-frame in the order of the divisions.
- Seal the joints with silicone, then remove the protective film once the work is complete.
Indicative lead time for aluminium cladding installations: 14–19 working days from approved shop drawings to handover for under 100 m², longer for larger facades.
Is wood-look aluminium cladding real wood?
Not in what we install. What is often called wooden ACP cladding is an aluminium panel with a wood-grain pattern transferred onto its face by a heat-transfer coating. It gives the look of timber with the behaviour of metal: it does not absorb moisture, does not swell, needs no periodic painting and keeps its joints even under direct sun all day.
One detail is often missed: wood grain has a direction, and if it is not set before cutting, neighbouring panels can show opposing grain under the sun. Wood look is usually ordered for part of a facade, such as a band, an entrance frame or a canopy ceiling; for shaded outdoor seating see aluminium pergolas.
Aluminium composite panel manufacturer and supplier in Saudi Arabia
Qusoor Al-Sultan manufactures ACP panels at its factory in Wadi Jalil, Makkah, and supplies them in two forms. Raw ACP sheets are sold by quote, with the sheet price stated in it. The installed aluminium cladding system starts from SAR 180/m² before VAT: the factory cuts, routes and folds the panels to the approved shop drawings, then fixes them on site to a sub-frame.
Across the Kingdom, installed work is priced at the Makkah rate plus transport and installation: 3% in Jeddah and Taif, 5% in Madinah, 8% in Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and 10% in Abha, Tabuk and Qassim. Contractors can send the BOQ and facade drawings as set out on our contractors page, and shop owners can start from shop front cladding and glass.

Frequently asked questions
What is included in the installed rate for aluminium cladding?
The rate per square metre covers preparing the panels by cutting, routing and folding, the standard sub-frame, silicone and installation, from SAR 180/m² before VAT in Makkah. A loose panel price covers the raw sheet alone, so the two figures cannot be compared directly. We manufacture ACP panels at our Makkah factory and supply them either as raw sheets, with the sheet price given in the quote, or installed at the rate above.
What decides the scope of a cladding job?
Reading the whole facade, not the area alone: divisions, corners, edges, door and window openings and junctions with other systems. Where cladding wraps an opening, its edge and transition to the aluminium frame are detailed, and cuts and edges are counted before pricing.
Can one project combine cladding and a curtain wall?
Yes. The limits of each system and the transition between them must then be clear on the drawings and details, and Qusoor Al-Sultan coordinates the interface through its technical office. See our curtain wall page for the glazed side.
Which colours are available for ACP cladding?
Colours from the standard range start from SAR 180/m². Special colours outside the range, including matte black, gold, mirror and marble finishes, and wood-look panels start from SAR 250/m², supplied and installed, before VAT. On shopfronts the colour is matched to the brand from the start. White, grey or any other shade is first matched to the standard range.
Is ACP aluminium cladding fire resistant or non-combustible?
It depends on the panel: not every ACP panel is non-combustible, so fire resistance is never assumed. The fire rating that aluminium cladding panels must meet is set by the project specification, and Qusoor Al-Sultan selects the ACP panel to match that rating before pricing, on exterior facades and on interior wall and ceiling cladding alike.
Can aluminium cladding go on columns, fascias and canopy roofs?
Yes. Besides facade walls, we supply and install ACP and other aluminium column cladding, as well as fascia cladding on the horizontal bands at the top of a facade; scope, details and price are set in the quote. On entrance canopies, aluminium roof cladding panels are fixed to an independent metal frame once the falls and rainwater drainage are checked.
How much do aluminium composite panels cost per square metre?
Installed ACP cladding costs from SAR 180/m² in standard colours and SAR 250/m² in special colours or wood look, and laser-cut aluminium from SAR 235/m², before VAT, in Makkah. The standard sub-frame is included; an aluminium sub-frame adds SAR 36/m², up to SAR 286/m² in all. Raw sheets and interior panels are priced by quote.
What is the difference between exterior and interior aluminium wall panels?
Exterior aluminium wall panels are fixed to a sub-frame in front of the facade wall, so wind load, fixing and the specified fire rating are reviewed, from SAR 180/m². Interior wall panels for entrances, receptions and shops come in the same panels and finishes, planned around lighting points and air-conditioning openings, and are priced by quote.
What is the price of ACP cladding sheets in Saudi Arabia?
Raw ACP cladding sheets are priced by quote: Qusoor Al-Sultan manufactures the panels in Makkah and also supplies them as raw sheets. A sheet price covers the bare panel only, while the installed rate, from SAR 180/m² in standard colours and SAR 250/m² in special colours or wood look before VAT in Makkah, also covers cutting, routing and the sub-frame.
Is aluminium cladding expensive?
Less than a glazed facade: installed aluminium cladding starts from SAR 180/m² before VAT in Makkah, against SAR 470/m² for a curtain wall. White or grey aluminium cladding is first matched to the standard range, while matte black aluminium cladding, other special colours and wood look start from SAR 250/m². Our price calculator gives a range for your facade area.
Factory, contractor or workshop: who should clad your facade?
A workshop suits single items and small quantities, prices by the piece and usually has no technical office. A subcontractor takes the facade package under a main contract. Qusoor Al-Sultan, an aluminium cladding company working across Saudi Arabia, fabricates and installs the panels itself, with a production line and a technical office that prepares shop drawings, and deals directly with contractors, villa owners and shop owners.
